13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter 286.5 x 179mm | Taller 16 by 10 Cut | Two-Way Side Blackout | Tab Mount Removable | Matte Anti-Glare Face
Protects clinic charts, property valuations and unpublished stories when a crowd surrounds you at receptions or campuses.
Condition: New

The 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter 286.5 x 179mm is in stock at Mascom International, priced at KSh 3,500, brand new and sealed. It is cut in the taller 16:10 shape, measuring exactly 286.5 x 179mm, for 13.3-inch laptops with the newer, squarer screens. A micro-louver film inside works like a set of fine blinds: you see the picture clearly, while anyone about 30 degrees to your left or right sees darkness. The 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter 286.5 x 179mm has a matte, glare-cutting face, comes in black, and fitting is free at our Kimathi Street store in Nairobi CBD.
Designed for doctors, estate agents, journalists and NGO field staff, the 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter 286.5 x 179mm handles one daily risk: other people reading your screen. A clinic waiting area in Upper Hill, an open-plan office in Kilimani or a crowded bus to Nakuru all put eyes close to your laptop. Patient records, property valuations, unpublished stories and donor reports deserve better. With the 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter 286.5 x 179mm in place, you type and read as usual. Anyone beside you sees a black panel, and the matte layer also tames harsh sunlight through a window.
Unlike other electronics retailers in Kenya that stock one generic 13.3-inch sheet for every laptop, Mascom International carries both 13.3-inch shapes and checks which one your screen needs. The 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter 286.5 x 179mm is the taller cut; a 16:9 sheet on a 16:10 panel leaves a strip of exposed screen. Buyers throughout Kenya report that a filter cut to the right height simply disappears into daily use. Walk into the Old Mutual Building with your laptop for a fitted sheet in minutes, or order on WhatsApp and pay on arrival.
Common Questions About the 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter 286.5 x 179mm
What is the 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter 286.5 x 179mm price in Kenya?
Mascom International sells the 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter 286.5 x 179mm for KSh 3,500, brand new, at its Nairobi CBD store. The price includes the sheet, mounting tabs, a cleaning cloth and fitting by our technicians on Kimathi Street. A 6-month warranty covers manufacturing defects, and delivery across Kenya is pay-on-arrival. The 16:9 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter costs the same KSh 3,500, so pick by screen shape alone.
Which laptops does the 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter 286.5 x 179mm fit?
The 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter 286.5 x 179mm fits 13.3-inch laptops with a 16:10 screen measuring 286.5mm wide and 179mm tall. Business models with this taller panel include the HP EliteBook 830 G9 and the Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Gen 2. Laptop makers switch shapes between generations, so the model name alone is not proof. Measure the lit picture area in millimetres, leaving out the bezel, or WhatsApp your model to +254 708 852 521 before ordering.
How is the 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter 286.5 x 179mm different from the 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter?
The 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter 286.5 x 179mm is the taller 16:10 cut, while the 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter is a 16:9 cut of about 294 by 166mm. Ours is about 13mm taller and about 7.5mm narrower. Both sell for KSh 3,500 and share the same 30-degree side blackout. Pick this one if your screen height measures close to 179mm. Pick the 16:9 one if it measures close to 166mm, as on older EliteBook 830 and ThinkPad X13 models.
Can I tell the shape of my screen without a tape measure?
Yes, the quickest test is the ratio of width to height: a 16:10 screen looks noticeably squarer than a 16:9 one. Laptops sold from about 2021 onward increasingly use the taller 16:10 shape, which the 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter 286.5 x 179mm suits. Your display settings may also list a resolution such as 1920 by 1200, which is 16:10, against 1920 by 1080 for 16:9. When in doubt, send a photo of the settings page to Mascom International on WhatsApp.
Does the 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter 286.5 x 179mm work in bright Kenyan sunlight?
The 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter 286.5 x 179mm has a matte face that cuts reflections, which helps under strong sun on a veranda in Mombasa or beside an office window. It does not add brightness, and the film itself dims the picture slightly from the front. Raise your laptop brightness a step or two and text stays readable. On battery during a KPLC power cut, that extra brightness costs a little runtime, so dim it again when you move indoors.
Will people behind me still see my screen?
The 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter 286.5 x 179mm blocks views from the left and right only, not from directly behind. Someone standing over your shoulder sees much of what you see. In a lecture hall at Kenyatta University or the back row of a bus, the risk comes mostly from the sides, which the film covers from about 30 degrees off centre. For the remaining angle, sit with a wall or seat back behind you when you open confidential files.
Is the 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter 286.5 x 179mm hard to fit and remove?
No, the 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter 286.5 x 179mm mounts with slim tabs stuck along the bezel, never across the display. The sheet slides into the tabs and lifts out again in seconds without leaving residue. Our technicians fit it free at the Kimathi Street counter if you bring the laptop in. Delivered buyers can fit it themselves: wipe the screen with the supplied cloth, place the tabs evenly on the frame, then seat the sheet.
Who should buy the 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter 286.5 x 179mm, and who should not?
Buy the 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter 286.5 x 179mm if your 13.3-inch laptop has a 16:10 screen and you handle private records in public or shared rooms. Field staff, medical teams and journalists get the most from it. Skip it if your screen is 16:9 at about 166mm tall; take the 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter instead. Owners of a 14-inch laptop need a 14-inch sheet, and anyone who shows slides to colleagues from their own laptop may find the narrow cone frustrating.
Technical Specifications
Core Function and Viewing Angle
- Micro-louver film with fine vertical slats — light leaves the screen straight ahead, so side views turn dark while your own view stays sharp.
- Blackout begins near 30 degrees off centre — a colleague at the next desk or a passenger in the next seat cannot follow your document.
- Total readable cone around 60 degrees — you keep a clear picture while sitting naturally in front of it.
- Privacy on both sides at once — covers left and right neighbours on buses, in clinics and in shared offices.
- Matte, glare-cutting surface — reduces reflections from sunny windows and bright ceiling tubes in open-plan offices.
- Mild dimming from the front — one or two brightness steps higher restores comfortable reading for most users.
- No software or power required — the film works on Windows, Linux or ChromeOS laptops alike and draws nothing from the battery.
Compatibility and Screen Shape
- 16:10 aspect ratio — the taller, squarer shape found on many newer 13.3-inch business laptops, giving more lines of text per page.
- Exact size 286.5 x 179mm — compare against the lit picture area measured in millimetres, bezel excluded.
- Suits 1920 by 1200 class 13.3-inch panels — check your display settings to confirm a 16:10 resolution.
- Examples with this panel shape include the HP EliteBook 830 G9 and the Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Gen 2.
- Leaves 16:9 laptops uncovered at the edges — those need the 13.3-inch Laptop Privacy Filter at about 294 by 166mm.
- MacBook owners need an A-number-matched sheet — Mascom International stocks those as separate items, priced from KSh 4,000 for most 13-inch models.
- Free fit check — send the model name or a measurement photo on WhatsApp before you order, and our team replies with a yes or no.
Build and Mounting
- Slim adhesive tabs on the bezel only — the display surface itself never touches glue.
- Lifts off cleanly without residue — remove it at home for films, then refit it before the morning commute.
- Black finish — looks tidy against dark bezels and attracts no attention in a meeting room, a bank queue or a hospital corridor.
- Thin and light — the laptop still closes normally and slips into the same sleeve or bag you already carry every day.
- Matte texture hides smudges — a quick wipe with the cloth clears fingerprints and dust.
- Adds a guard layer — the sheet takes light scratches from keys or chargers before the screen does.
- Unbranded film — the price reflects the exact 16:10 cut and free counter fitting, not a logo.
Inclusions and After-Sale Service
- One black privacy filter sheet — exactly 286.5 x 179mm in the 16:10 shape, ready to mount on arrival.
- Mounting tabs — fix along the laptop bezel so the sheet seats and releases easily.

- Counter fitting included in the KSh 3,500 — done by Mascom International technicians on Kimathi Street.
- Delivery with payment on arrival — pay by cash or M-Pesa when the parcel reaches you.
- Home fitting possible — the tabs and cloth are all you need to mount it yourself.
- No add-ons required — no glue, applicator card or tool is needed for fitting or for removing it later.
